Kate is in a tree gathering mangoes for Sawyer. She drops one and almost falls from the tree. As she climbs down and picks up the mango she looks up and sees a black horse just standing there in the jungle. Then it walks away. She's visibly shaken by this sight.

We find out in a flashback, that while she was being driven back to Iowa by the Marshall, suddenly, a black horse appears in the road and the car crashes.

When Sawyer is up and feeling better, Kate takes him outside for some fresh air and to prove to him they are still on the island (the bunk bed has him confused thinking they are rescued). While the sit and chat, Sawyer looks off behind Kate and suggests she take him back inside. She turns and sees the horse.

Handcuffs

Locke uses a pair of bolt cutters to finally relieve Jin of the handcuffs.
