Michael has worked with Jin on a raft in order to leave the island. It doesn't get far as it is set afire causing Michael to lose his temper. (Walt later admits to Locke that he set the fire because he was tired of moving and in Born To Run he admits to Michael that he burned it because he doesn't want to leave)
