Sawyer calls Jack "Hoss", a character's name on the once popular TV western show Bonanza.

A nod to The BBC series The Office. When Charlie asks Lucy, the girl he was on a date with, where her father was, she said he was probably out buying a paper company in Slough. If you've ever seen The Office, the show takes place at a paper company called Wernham Hogg in Slough.
