Chico and the Man

Sawyer refers to Jack as Chico, a possible reference to the old TV show Chico and The Man. Chico was a fast-talking, happy-go-lucky chicano who worked for The Man, Ed Brown at his filling station. The two were always together, and when they weren't bickering between themselves, they came to a greater understanding of each other's generation and culture.
