Young Jack's Left Eye - (flashback opening scene)
Later, Jack's left eye is blackened and swollen nearly shut.
Locke tells Jack he has "looked into the eye of the island." And says it was "beautiful."
When Charlie is kind to Claire, she's grateful: "People don't
seem to look me in the eye here. I think I scare them. The baby. It's
like I'm this time bomb of responsibility just waiting to go off."
