Sawyer took the Marshal's badge and gun after the crash.

 

Batteries

When the batteries in the tranceiver were getting weak, Sayid was concerned it would run down before they got out a signal. Instead, what they did get was the French Transmission. The batteries died just after Shannon translated the message.

Blood

Hurley, asked by Jack to help with the injured Marshall, announces that he's "not so good around blood," and promptly faints when Jack removes the shrapnel.

Boxes

Locke befriends Walt while setting up the backgammon board. The backgammon set is seen again in All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues, and Abandoned.

 

Buttons

Jin instructs Sun to button her sweater. Later, as an act of defiance, she unbuttons it.

Keys

Kate grabs the Marshal's keys to the handcuffs when the plane starts to go down.

Mirrors

Charlie gets high in the airplane bathroom.

Radios & Gadgets

Jack, Kate and Charlie bring back the transceiver from the cockpit. However, the batteries were low and couldn't pick anything up despite Sayid's experience in communications. They did however pick up the French lady (Danielle's) signal.

Rocks

The Black Rock is mentioned in the French transmission, but Shannon does not translate it.

Shoes

Charlie stashes his heroin in his shoes.
