Before he won, Hurley's Lotto had gone 16 weeks without a winner.

Hurley finds out that Danielle and her science team also heard the numbers (the same transmission that Lenny and Sam heard ?) and that they explored the island to find the source. She then agrees with Hurley that, "Numbers are what brought me here. As it appears they brought you. Since that time I've lost everything, everyone I cared about. So yes, I suppose you are right. They are cursed." With this revelation - Hurley bear hugs her - he can't believe someone finally agrees with him.
