The Cursed Numbers

Hurley won the lottery by using the numbers 4 - 8 - 15 - 16 - 23 - 42 that he heard from Lenny at the Santa Rosa Mental Health Institute. Since using the numbers for the lottery, bad things started happening to the people around Hurley. He visited Lenny and found out he and Sam Toomey had heard those numbers transmitted over a radio frequency. Hurley finds out that Sam used those same numbers to guess the number of beans in a pot, then bad things started happening to people in Sam's life also. Hurley now believes the numbers are cursed. At the end of Numbers, we see that the numbers are etched on the hatch (picture at top). Finally, in Exodus 3, Hurley sees the numbers on the hatch and freaks out, yelling at Locke not to blow open the hatch.   They have now discovered that the computer in the hatch requires them to enter this same number sequence very 108 minutes, which they did....until Locke decided to take a leap of faith and not enter them.  To be continued......
