20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (1997)

The Admiral McCutcheon that Charles Widmore mentions to Desmond was a character from a remake film of the classic, 20000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne.

The Wizard of Oz

We see a man wearing a pair of red tennis shoes when scaffolding falls and kills him, leaving us a peek of his red shoes sticking out of the debris.  This is reminiscent of wicked witch of the east wearing the ruby slippers and getting killed by Dorothy's house falling on top of her.  We also have Desmond who was knocked out by the hatch implosion and waking up in a whole new time period, just as Dorothy did in Wizard of Oz.
