There have been comparisons made between Luke Skywalker and Walt. In The Empire Strikes Back,
when Luke was upside down in the monster's cave with his feet encased
in ice, he had pretty poor control of the force at that time (like
Walt), but when he cleared his mind and focused he was able to get his
light saber to come to him so he could cut himself down. The way Luke
struggled a few times before calming himself and doing it in a
deliberate way is reminscent of Walt throwing the knife using his "mind's eye."
