Ghostbusters
Sawyer called Hurley "Stay-Puft", a shout out to the movie Ghostbusters.
| Quote: |
Hurley: "Or, you could just give it to me. Cuz, dude, you could use the points."
Sawyer: "Well, gosh, you sure know how to butter a man up, Stay-Puft".

Possible Parallel:
In Ghostbusters, the
evil spirit Gozer asks the ghostbusters what form will destroy the
earth and Ray thinks of the Stay-Puft marshmallow man. It's an
interesting reference as some believe the island manifests the wishes
of others - which many believe is a red herring.

Rosemary's Baby
It seem this entire episode is modeled on this movie. Numerous references abound.
- the crying baby followed by the approach to the crib where Rosemary is shocked by what she sees inside;
- Rosemary/Claire hanging curtains; blonde, sweet, and wearing an emblematic necklace
- the demonic symbol 666.
- the betrayal of the heroine by the baby's father
- the apparent nightmare that results in real wounds to the dreamer
- the doctor who tells her her fears are imaginary and prescribes a sedative
- the anagram of the name Roman in RB, Ethan Rom in Lost
- the spooky, non-human eyes
