Help Out The Long Lost List:

WALT'S SPECIAL POWERS
POSSIBLE INCIDENCES OF:

    • (PIL2)
Walt was sitting calmly on the beach looking at the pics of the polar bear in The
Green Lantern, a polar bear (presumably already on the island according to Rousseau) then rushed the transceiver troop. I don't recall Walt being upset right then. (Correct me if I'm wrong).

    • (TR)
Michael said he'd look for Vincent when it stopped raining - the raining instantly stopped. Walt was upset that dad wouldn't look right then.

    • (COWBOY)
He had a very lucky streak playing backgammon with Hurley, rolling what he needed three times in a row. Not outside the realm of chance, but in the context of his other incidents it is striking. He was not angry then, he was having a good time and was confident in his game.

    • (SPEC)
Looking at a photo of a bird in his schoolbook, he got upset that Susan Lloyd and Brian Porter, his parents, were not paying attention to him. The same bird pictured in the book hit the glass window and died a bloody death. It's unlikely Walt was trying to kill the bird or harm anyone, the bird was just coming to his unconcious mental "call".
    • Locke told Walt to imagine the knife going where it needed to go, to focus and picture it in his head. Walt threw the knife perfectly. Old Jedi Mind Trick. Walt was not angry, he was focused. *See below for a detail of the Mind's Eye*
    • After Walt hit the knot in the tree, Locke tells him that he knew he had it in him. Walt replies that he actually saw it in his mind or something.
    • While arguing over Locke allowing Walt to use the knife, Locke tells Michael, "Walt knows his own mind."
    • Locke tells Michael that Walt has been through more than most people have been in their entire lifetimes, and that Michael has not spent enough time with Walt to see it yet, but that Walt is "different", and that he should be allowed to realize his potential.
    • Walt again looks at the polar bear in the comic book, and gets mad at Michael for burning the book and sending him to the corner. Polar bear appears and attacks Walt.
    • Walt's mother Susan Lloyd became suddenly ill. Speculation: It is possible that he wanted her to stay home with him, and unconsciously wished her sick. There is no evidence for this. He may have been motivated by sadness, attachment, need, but not anger - he just wanted his mommy.

    • (EX1)
There's speculation that Walt caused the plane to go down (I'm not fond of the theory, but...)
----- ---- When Michael told Walt he was in Australia to bring him home, Walt said, "I'm not going anywhere with you." After the crash, they are in the metaphoric middle of nowhere.

    • (BTR)
Walt tells Locke he is the one that burnt the first raft but he is not the one that is making his dad sick. Locke goes to touch Walt's arm and the following scene insues:
      Quote:
Locke - You think because I know you burned the first raft that I think you made your dad sick? [Walt nods.] We're friends, Walt. I didn't tell on you before and I'm not going to tell on you now. [He puts his hand on Walt's wrist.] And I know you would never do anything to hurt your dad.

[Walt looks down at Locke's hand and pulls his arm away.]
      Locke - What's the matter?
      Walt - Don't open it.
      Locke - What'd you say?
Walt - Don't open it, Mr. Locke. Don't open that thing.
      Locke - What? What thing?
Walt - Just don't open it.
Can Walt forsee what will happen if the hatch is opened? Or does he sense something evil lurking below the surface?

    • (BTR)
In a later scene in Born To Run, Walt and Michael are talking about going on the new raft...
      Quote:
Michael - Yeah, yep. I'm going to be alright. Hey, don't worry. I'm going to be on my feet soon. We'll be sailing home before you can even. . .
Walt - I'm the one that burned the raft. I didn't want to leave and I thought I could stop you. Sorry. I'm really sorry, dad.
Michael - Hey, it's okay, man. We can stay here. You and me. We don't have to go.
      Walt - Yes we do
Again, is Walt sensing doom if they do not leave? If he was "in tune" then he wasn't "in tune" while they were on the raft...he didn't sense the "others" coming for him?

    • (MOSMOF)
Is is possible Walt is sending an image of himself (see ref. to remote viewing under to Shannon when she is out looking for Vincent? Shannon runs off to search for Vincent and Sayid goes to help her. They see Vincent sitting ahead of them in the jungle and as they go to catch him, Vincent takes off and Sayid runs after him. Shannon tries to find Sayid and she trips. She then hears whisper all around her. Walt appears in front of her. Walt is dripping wet (he was not wet when pulled onto the boat), raises his hands to his lips and says, "Shhhh...", whispers something to her. Sayid appears and breaks the vision.

According to sound analysis provided by the TV Guide Channel show The 411, Walt says, "Push the button. No button is bad."

    • (ABANDONED)
      Quote:
[Shannon lies back contentedly. There's a sudden "wind" sound and the candle in the tent is extinguished.]
      SHANNON: That was quick.
[We see Walt's silouette. He's dripping wet, and says something backwards. Shannon screams.]

Sayid goes chasing after her when she tries to use Vincent to find Walt. (raining again) Sayid and Shannon both see and hear Walt this time:
      Quote:
SAYID: I will never leave you. I love you. I'll never leave you.
      SHANNON: You do?
      SAYID: I do.
[They hug. And then they hear the whispers. Sayid sees Walt.]
      WALT: Shhh.
      SHANNON: Do you see him?
      [Sayid nods.]
      SHANNON: Walt! Walt!
[Walt walks away and Shannon runs after him. Sayid sits stunned for a moment and then goes after Shannon.]
      SAYID: Shannon!

      (23RD PSALM)
Does Walt communicate with Michael again?
      Quote:
[Inside the hatch we see Michael looking around to make sure no one is there. He goes into the computer room and tries to type but nothing happens.]

MICHAEL: Come on. Come on. Where are you?
[Suddenly something appears on the monitor.]
      MONITOR: Dad?
      MICHAEL [typing]: Are you OK?
      MONITOR: Yes. Are you alone?
      MICHAEL [typing]: Yes.
MONITOR: Can't talk long. They're coming back soon.
      MICHAEL [typing]: Where are you?
      MONITOR: You need to com...
[The shot changes to Michael's face, reading. Suddenly Jack enters just as Michael was about to type something.]
      JACK: Hey, Michael.
      MICHAEL: Hey.
      JACK: How're you doing?
      MICHAEL: I'm good, thanks.
      JACK: You down here alone?
MICHAEL: Yeah, Hurley's supposed to be here, but, uh, I guess he's running late.
[Jack grabs a chair and sits down, but he can't see the monitor screen.]
JACK: Well, listen, uh, no one's forgotten about Walt.
      MICHAEL: What?
JACK: I can't -- I don't have any idea what you must be going through, but I just want you to know that as soon as we can we're going to figure a way to go out and bring him back.
MICHAEL: Yeah, thanks, man. Thanks. [Michael looks toward the computer screen.]
      JACK: You okay?
      MICHAEL: Yeah, fine.
[Jack gets up and crosses behind Michael. We see that the screen is blank. Jack puts his hand on Michael's shoulder.]
JACK: Well, I'll leave you to it then.
      MICHAEL: Thanks.

    *The Mind's Eye* explained:
    Commonly called the 'third eye'.

    Power stations:
There are seven main energy centres within the body. They are called 'chakras', the Sanskrit word for wheel, because they appear clairvoyantly as whirling vortices of light. The chakras are situated in a line along the spine, starting with the root chakra at the base of the spine. Next is the sacral chakra, at the reproductive centre, the solar plexus at the naval, the heart, the throat, and the brow. The highest centre at the crown of the head is called the thousand-petalled lotus.

As a person begins to evolve spiritually, the chakras start to open and expand, from the lowest upwards. The expansion of the solar plexus gives increased sensitivity and intuition. As the heart opens, we are able to give out and receive greater love and compassion. The expansion of the throat centre begins creative ability and self-expression, while the crown connects us with the higher dimensions of spirits and with the deities.

The third eye has always been linked with psychic and occult powers. Pictured as an eye in the middle of the forehead, its development gives the ability to see with the inner vision. This encompasses many things: clairvoyance, seeing spirits, remote viewing or seeing things in distant places, and foreseeing in the future. At the highest level, it bestows the gift of spiritual 'insight' and spiritual knowledge.

When you begin to see vivid pictures or colours during your meditation, this is a sign that your third eye is developing. All meditation practices stimulate the development of the third eye, particularly those which involve visualisation.
