Sawyer is being kept by the Others in a large cage that has some sort of food-distributing device inside it.After much trialand error, Saywer finally defeats the machine and wins a fish-biscuit, and Tom mocks his reward:

 

TOM: Hey, you got yourself a fish biscuit. How'd you do that? SAWYER: I figured out your complicated gizmos, that's how. TOM [exiting]: Only took the bears 2 hours. SAWYER [calling after Tom]: How many of them were there?
