The Black Smoke Beach

in Exodus Part 2, Charlie and Sayid set off after Danielle who took Claire's baby. They head in the direction of the black smoke seen rising toward the other side of the island. Danielle had told them she saw black smoke on the night they came and took her baby, so Sayid and Charlie assume this is where she was heading with the intention of offering Claire's baby in exchange for her daughter Alex. The site of the black smoke is on the beach on the other side of the island from the beach camp where they spotted the rising black plumes in the daylight.
