FLASHBACK SUMMARY:
Michael and Walt are in a hotel room. Michael is sleeping and Walt is watching tv - Power Rangers. He turns the volume up louder and wakes Michael up. He is not happy because it is 5:23 in the morning. Walt doesn't seem to care and turns it up even more. Michael yells at him that he said to turn it down. Walt barks back, "Brian lets me watch it as loud as I want." Michael replies back, "I'm not Brian." And turns the television off. Walt storms off with Vincent out of the room. All the while yelling at Michael - get away from me, your not my father!
Jack is seen in the airport bar having a drink. A woman (Ana Lucia) sits down next to him. She orders a Tequila and tonic with a wedge of lemon. She and Jack hit if off. They exchange seat numbers. Ana overheard Jack telling the ticket clerk how he needed to get his father's body to L.A.She asks if he has no ring because he is single or because he doesn't like to wear one. Jack figures she is asking if he is married, he says no, not anymore . . . As she leaves to take a phone call she says something cryptic to Jack, "The worst part's over."
Next, Sawyer is seen in a Sydney police station, with his hands cuffed behind him. A detective - Calderwood, asks if he remembers him. Says that 3 nights ago Sawyer was hauled in for a bar fight. That Sawyer broke his (now glued) coffee mug when he kicked his desk. (mug has pictures of his kids on it)Says that Sawyer head butted the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. That he was being deported and was to never come back to Sydney ever again. He calls Sawyer by his "real name" James Ford. That he is known for assault, wire fraud, identity theft, bank fraud, telemarketing fraud. He calls him a scavenger, a stain, a conman that feeds on the week and the needy.
Next, we see an airport official opening the Haliburton case. Kate is being escorted by the Marshal. They ask why he has so many guns. The Marshal fills them in on Kate's said story, of how she killed her childhood sweetheart and how she robbed a bank in New Mexico all for a little toy airplane. Kate is wrought with anger when the Marshal teases her by asking her what was the guy's name, "She just takes the plane. Because that's the only thing in the whole world that Kate does care about. She has no attachments, she thinks she's telling herself she needs it to atone for killing her boyfriend. What's-his-name. Gods, Kate, come on. What's his name? (In a sarcastic tone) Kate tries to launch herself at him while she is handcuffed and slams her cuffs into his neck as he is pushed into a wall. This is why he needs five guns, he tells the security official.
Then Boone and Shannon are seen the airport lobby. Shannon is working on a word puzzle. You hear an announcement that flight 338 to Fiji will be delayed. Sayid walks up and sets his bag on the seat next to her and asks she if she wouldn't mind watching his bag for a moment. She doesn't even look up at him and says "Sure, whatever. Boone comes over to her and tells her that they can't get into first class. She is miffed and proves to him that she can get what she wants, that she can get him thrown off the flight. She turns and walks over to a security guard and tells him that she saw an Arab man leave his bag unattended.
Sun and Jin are next seen sitting in the airport lobby having a bite to eat. She gives a snack to Jin saying it is all she could find. She spills coffee on Jin accidentally and he heads for the bathroom. An American couple is sitting at the table next to theirs and witness Sun's accident. The woman's (Gina) comments are how she would never do something like that for her husbands (Jeff) - dote on him, cater to him . . . she would never act like that. Jeff tells her don't knock it that their divorce rate is 20 times lower than ours.
Gina comment's on how it's like " Memoirs of a Geisha" come to life. (link is to Wikpedia.org - free encyclopedia) She also thinks that they "don't speak English" which by now we know that Sun not only understands but she speaks it pretty well.
