FLASHBACK SUMMARY:
A woman has been in a car crash. She is in the hospital operating room and Jack is working on her, but she is flatlining. He quickly finishes repair to her hepatic artery and then they use the paddles to try and get her heart started again. Jack later confronts his father as to how many drinks he had at lunch before he was called in to operate. Jack's dad convinces him that if he tells the board what really happened that he could loose his license and be finished as a doctor. He asks him to sign a report that states she was in such severe condition, and that they did all they could to save her to no avail. Jack does after more stroking from his father, how Jack is the most gifted surgeon in the city and how he sacrificed so much so that people (hundreds of thousands) would be alive because of Jack's extraordinary skills. But during the board review of the surgery and subsequent death of the patient, Jack finds out she was pregnant. He is visibly shaken, and starts to speak up. He wants to change his version of what happened and he spills the beans.
