In this episode, we find Kate is on the run again. Kate and her childhood sweetheart Tom buried a little bit of themselves in a lunchbox under a tree. Kate wants to see her mom who is dying from cancer. She runs into Tom (childhood friend).
They go and dig up the box and the memories flood back. We see inside the little toy airplane that she holds onto so tightly, they very same one that she held up a bank in New Mexico to get her hands on. Tom helps Kate see her mother but when her mother screams for help and security comes running,they were expecting Kate to show up, Tom helps her get away,and in a shoot out Tom is killed (?) by a shot in the chest.
Artz tells the lostaways that the monsoon season is starting and that if they want to leave, it should have been yesterday. Michael is building a second raft and Sawyer is slotted to go and there's no more room. Michael is getting sicker as the day goes on and we find out Sun and Kate were poisoning his water. They were trying to make Jin sick not Michael so that he would have to stay. Sun got the idea from Kate. Sawyer calls her out in front of everyone and exposes that she was the fugitive with the marshall on the plane. Everyone seems disgusted and turn their backs to her. Walt tells Michael that he was the one that burnt the first raft. Michael tells Walt they don't have to leave and Walt tells Michael, "yes, we do."
