Boone's Monster Hallucination

Locke takes Boone into the jungle. Boone tells Locke he wants to tell Shannon the truth about what they have been doing instead of hunting for boar.

They sit in front of the hatch wondering how they are going to get it open. Locke is mixing something in a coconut shell. Locke asks him if he has considered the ramifications and how he feels no one else is ready to know about the hatch. Locke hits Boone on the back of the head with the handle of a knife.

Boone wakes up and is tied up in a weird configuration that holds one hand in front of him and the other behind his back. Locke takes his special goo and puts it on Boone's head and tells him it's best to not leave a wound untreated it would get infected. Locke then throws a knife and it lands just in front of Boone out of easy reach. He tells Boone that with the "proper motivation" he would be able to get the knife and cut himself free...later Boone looks like he's been out of it and he comes to or wakes up.

Boone hears someone scream help; it's Shannon. He struggles to reach the knife and does as he hears Shannon scream louder and louder. It appears that the "monster" is coming for them both. They run and hide in what appears to be a clutch of mangrove roots. When they think the coast is clear they leave to go back to the beach and they are chased again by the monster and we see Shannon plucked off the ground, her legs kicking in the air.

Boone searches for Shannon and finds her on a rock in a stream. There is blood on the rocks and her body is a mangled mess. He holds her and cries.

Boone heads back to camp. He arrives after dark and runs full steam at Locke holding a knife like he's going to stab him. Locke and Boone tangle on the ground. Boone is angry and tells Locke that Shannon is dead.

Locke asks Boone why there is no blood on him...Boone is confused . Boone tells him that Shannon died in his arms.

Boone What made me see? That stuff you put on my head. . . you drugged me. Locke I gave you an experience that I believe was vital to your survival on this island. Boone It wasn't real? Locke I was only as real as you made it. Boone I saw her die. Locke How did you feel? When she died? Boone I felt. . . I felt.. I felt relieved. I felt relieved.

Boone jokingly asks Locke if he's been using the hallucinogenic goo when Locke tells him about his prophetic dream in DEM.
