Dies due to massive internal bleeding from being crushed when the Beechcraft plane fell off the cliff. Jack was going to amputate his leg in an attempt to save him but Boone begged him to just let him die in peace. Boone told Jack about the hatch and the plane before he died. Boone tried to say final words about his sister but was unable to get them out. The last thing he uttered was, "Tell Shannon..." In the last scene Jack told Kate, "Boone didn't die. He was murdered." and then went off in search of John Locke.
