Jack & Ana; Michael, Walt & Sceve; Shannon & Sayid; Charlie & Hurley

Jack & Ana

Jack is seen in the airport bar having a drink. Ana Lucia sits down next to him. She orders a Tequila and tonic with a wedge of lemon. She and Jack hit if off. They exchange seat numbers. Ana overheard Jack telling the ticket clerk how he needed to get his father's body to L.A.
She asks if he has no ring because he is single or becuase he doesn't like to wear one. Jack figures she is asking if he is married, he says no, not anymore... As she leaves to take a phone call she says something cryptic to Jack, "The worst part's over."

Michael, Walt & Sceve

Walt and Michael are at a Sydney hotel .  When they get into an argument Walt takes off down the hallway and Michael goes after him, dragging a yelling Walt back to the hotel room.  Sceve opens his hotel room door to see what the fuss is all about and asks if everything is okay.

Shannon & Sayid

Shannon is approached by Sayid asking if she would watch his bag for a few minutes.  Shannon agrees, but then gets up and leaves with Boone.  She and Boone start arguing and to prove her point that she can get what she wants, she walks up to an airport security guard and tells them a suspicious bag was left by an Arab looking guy.  In the Pilot episode we hear Sawyer say he saw Sayid get pulled out of line by airport security.

Hurley & Charlie

We see Hurley first in the flashback in this episode. He wakes up in a hotel room and finds that the clock and lamp do not work. The electrical outlet has a burnt look...already you know his day is going great. He makes a phone call while running around packing his things. While on the phone we hear him say he needs his car and he can't wait 20 minutes or he'll be late for his flight. He has to be on the flight to make it for his mother's birthday. He runs out the door to the elevator which is full and in the middle is Charlie. Charlie yells to Hurley, "Some of us have a bloody flight to make."
