Hurley, Charlie, Jin and Desmond were whistling this tune as they hiked down the beach for their "boys night out". The march became popular when used in the movie The Bridge on the River Kwai.

The Celtic Song - Glen Daley
Desmond sings this song while getting drunk on the Monk's wine. The Celtic Song is the song played over the loud speaker at Celtic Park when the Scottish football team, Celtic, run onto the pitch before kick-off. It is set to the tune of "With cat-like tread, upon our prey we steal", from the 1879 Gilbert and Sullivan opera, The Pirates of Penzance. There are many versions of the song however the original played at Parkhead was recorded by Glen Daly.

Purple Haze - Jimi Hendrix
Sawyer tells Jack the ping pong table fell out of the "purple haze", a reference to this 1967 Jimi Hendrix song. "Purple Haze" is often cited as one of Jimi Hendrix's greatest songs,
and first international hit. For many, it is his signature work. Apophenia alert: According to Jimi Hendrix,
the song's colorful imagery came to him in a dream. "I dream a lot and
I put a lot of my dreams down as songs" in a 1969 interview.

Phil Collins
Sawyer gives Kate a tape of Phil Collins music after taking it from Bernard to try to make up for his less than romantic overture earlier regarding the "afternoon delight" comment. Philip David Charles Collins (born January 30, 1951 in Chiswick, London) is an English singer, songwriter, drummer, and actor. He is best known as the lead singer and drummer of progressive rock group Genesis and as a Grammy and Academy Award-winning solo artist. He is also an actor, having starred in numerous films.
